An extended exposure captured at dusk on a bitterly cold February evening (-11 Celsius I believe was the reading on the mercury but it felt colder) of the South Gate (Gwanghwamun) of Gyeongbok Palace, the largest & most important of the restored royal palaces in Seoul, South Korea. As a landmark and symbol of Seoul’s long history the gate has gone through multiple periods of destruction and disrepair. The latest renovation was in 2010 – the gate in its present form was revealed to the public on August 15 of that year. Seoul, South Korea. February 7, 2012.
